Hifi shelf support isolation

Currently putting together a DIY rack made from 40mm oak worktop
End panels are on spikes
What is the best way to put the shelves onto the brackets?
My 3 options are
metal spikes
or
metal spikes and gel isolation pads
or
isolation pads
The shelves are to support stereo amp & AV receiver (heavy)
SACD and bluray players
The middle shelf is to take Monitor Audio Gold C350 centre speaker. This has no feet so was thinking sorbothane hemispheres between speaker and shelf?

None of the above. The benefit of directly fixing the shelf to the framework is damped mass. By isolating the shelf you lose that. I would put hemispheres on the Centre Channel speaker.

B****r! I've already made the shelves 6mm too short to isolate them from the frame. Maybe need to leave them out in the rain overnight... Failing that, based on where I am now...?

I use acoustic foam to separate my center (also no feet) from the glass shelf it sits on. Not the prettiest solution mind.

Thank's. Just a bit of fun with a router and a box set of shaped router bits ;-)
I don't have acoustic foam but do have both sorbothane hemispheres and left over foam underlay for both carpet (12mm) and hardwood (2.5mm)

i would screw them to the brackets. Damped mass will soak up most of the vibration unless you are sticking a BK Monolith next to it, then you are going to need Granite shelves

Thank's @mushii that's me completely screwed up the shelves ;-)
They're totally solid now whereas before they wobbled like Homer Simpson's belly after a deflating fart.
So for the centre speaker best to use sorbothane hemisphere (squidgy) or gel pad (firmer)?

Sorbothane Hemispheres should be fine.

Using only the hemispheres the speaker wobbles like a jelly so I ended up using both the hemispheres and the gel pads (4 of each) as they are both the same height. Happy with the result.
