Hi all,

Am looking for suggestions for my first smart phone!  Something reasonably easy to get to grips with and max £200.

Thank you,
Tony

Having looked around the forum I see there are quite a few threads asking for advice about new phones and I think the info there covers what I want to know.  Apologies for starting yet another thread on a similar subject.

iPhone se would be a good starter, can probably pick one up around the £200 mark I’d have thought.

There’s a couple on Amazon, albeit “renewed” whatever that means

Thank you.

A Motorola G7 Power has also  been suggested.  Although the build quality isn't up with the best it won't get a lot of use or abuse.

No need to apologise at all, but it’s a hard question to answer, what do you want to use it for, mainly phone calls, YouTube/Netflix, surfing the web, gaming,

I would also say have a look at the Motorola g7 range, the power has a great battery, but is a big phone, also maybe look at the Samsung A series phones,
I find YouTube reviews very helpful.

Thanks - I'll take a look at the Samsung A.  I hadn't thought about the size so that is something I will look at too.

I'll mainly use it for calls and texts.  Would also like to put some of my music on it and I've been told Android is better for this?  It wouldn't get a lot of web use.

Android will be cheaper because you can put a sd card in the phone to expand the memory , if you have a lot of music to store.

Ultimate bargain is the Sony L3 , excellent screen and sound . Large long life battery and a microSD card socket . Circa £170 brand new .

I've just bought Motorola G7 plus for £219 and am highly delighted. Great sound and call reception

iPhone se is expensive for what it is and it hasa tiny low res screen

Xiaomi mi max 3 would be much easier to see. it has very easy to use interface (miui)
