My gawd how is there not a thread for this?

I loved the original and this one is pretty good too. I picked it up for 3 bucks on a trade in to Gamestop.

I love the Mario games. Total fun. Kind of reminds me of Everybody's Golf in the sheer fun factor.

I have mario golf too that I haven't played yet which I imagine is similar.

Anyone play or have played? Would love to do some online gaming but I'm not sure how the connection would hold up.

I had it a while back, but found it got boring quickly. The power shot gimmick lost its appeal quickly and ruined the balance imo. It wasn't about carefully placed shots any more. A shame really, as the N64 game was amazing.

I don't use any power shots.  But I think I remember power shots in the N64 game... maybe I'm mistaken.

All I use is placement.  Though the easy matches are, well... easy.  The championships are getting harder though.  I don't really care for the coin games though, the ones that give you coins to buy gear... those are kind of lame.

Funny, cos I enjoyed the mini games more than the main game!

The Mario Bros Tennis mini-game or whatever it was called was really good. Ring shot mode was as addictive as it was on the N64. Damn...Now you're making me miss the game!

The N64 game had charged shots, it was the GameCube game that started the power shot gimmick...grrr!

lol... the ring shot one is the only one I play.  I did try the other ones.  Like the mario bros one, the ink splat one, the floor collapsing one.  I think the floor collapsing game gives you the most money but it's not fun seeing that crap fall down cuz you didn't hit it perfectly.

Good LORD the Star tournaments are a biatch!

And so is the one where the platforms disappear when the ball lands on them.  Doing it 100 times though and I got Dry Bowser which is a skeleton bowser.

Got quite a few characters from doing those things.  I got a Peach Costume because I got like 800 coins on the Ring game.  My Mii looks hilariously terrible in it, lol.  Drag queen galore!
