As a temporary solution you could take it to a friends house who has a faster connection and download the games and updates there. Some people on here have even taken it to work but I’d check with your boss first on that one.

My works fibre has definitely saved me weeks of downloading but that was only 35-40Mbps so my fibre will be double that and only £13.50 a month extra over what I have been paying for 2.3Mbps, can’t wait.

I was shocked at the speeds and sizes of the required updates for our new Xbox One S yesterday...kids were very disappointed they couldn't get on straight away as they had the discs. Battlefront 2 took almost 10 hours, Fifa about 6-7. Downloading Forza Horizon 3 at the moment....all 52GB of it !!  Speeds vary from sub-1mbps to 20 mbps. Saw it hit 100mbps for a few seconds at one stage !! My usual speed for broadband is 6-8MB

when you are installing games you should ALWAYS (where possible) do this over a wired internet connection.  Your wireless connection will never be able to sustain the connection speeds of a wired connection, and particularly when downloading games which are so large these days, you really want to be using all the bandwidth at your disposal from your ISP.
