No sound through headset

Hi wondering if anyone can help, my son has a turtle beach headset , been working fine but all of a sudden he doesn’t get any sound through it.
We have connected headset to iPhone and played music through it and headset is fine.
We have it now so he can hear his friends but doesn’t hear any of the game noises ?
There is no console updates or control updates to do , we have held the power button on the front for 10secs to reset and still the same

Hello.
I take it the TB are plugged straight in to the controller via the 3.5mm port on the controller? Do you have to use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable to connect the TB? Or are they connected via the chat adapter?
Have you checked the audio settings when the headset is plugged in to the controller, under the cog diagram?
