Hello everyone.
About 3 months ago I bought Xbox One S. It was working very well, until I started to have a problem with a HDMI cable. I reported it to the shop where I bought the Xbox, but they said that there is no warranty for it, but only for the device. I was shocked because this cable is a part of console, so why can't I change it? Have any of you such situation? What can I do in this situation, because in my opinion cable also should be under warranty.

Buy a new one from Amazon for £3 or so and get on with your gaming.

It doesn't. A £3 Amazon cable should work fine. My X and Pro look amazing in 4k without the need for a silly expensive cable.

For the vast majority of users for the vast majority of circumstances, an Amazon cable will suffice. You absolutely don't need an expensive cable for 4k video, which is what you suggested.

HDMI 2.1 bandwidth max is 48 gbps.
There will be new cables for this and they will be “ Ultra “ or 48G cables.
Premium cables will not do.
There are critical physical differences between current HDMI cables and the new “ ultra spec” cables.

Up until now, all hdmi cables were made exactly the same way.
Whether it was “ standard speed” , “ high speed” or premium depended on which quality assurance program it was tested too.

Ultra cables are physically different with a new manufacturing process.

Note, a couple of sellers claim to have 48G cables for sale right now.
This is lies, they wont be available until early 2019 , the testing program is not ready yet.

Regardless of spec, properly certified cables can be had for less than a tenner.
So no need to pay more than that.

Official HDMI certification happens through hdmi.org.
The official certification program for "Utra or 48G" is not ready yet.
The current official "Premium" certification is for 18gbps not 48gbps.

Anyone claiming 48gbps at this point in time is unofficial or fake if you like.
Self Certification = no certification , its either official through hdmi.org or fake.

Certified by whom though?
Anyone can certify anything. I could test a cable and if it works on 4K, I can make you a certificate to say 'this cable is certified'.

But as Andy said the official certification is through HDMI.org.

Agree with this, Amazon Basics or any cheap cable will be fine. Replace it and move on.

Emperor's New Clothes.

It's one of the biggest scams in the world of AV, and it's incredible that people keep falling for it.

If it was Ultra tested then it would be labelled as Ultra speed instead they say 48Gb/s.
BTW, I know enough about Andy to trust what he says.
Also there are different ways of testing to get what you want or just don't get what you don't want. As a career test engineer this is a very important part of my work.
