Dental implant or a bridge - anyone made this choice?

Due to an unfortunate accident, I'm in the position of needing a dental implant or a bridge (not wishing to continue wearing a denture!) on upper front tooth.

Dentist is saying the implant should be OK if they use a procedure to encourage bone growth around the implant.

A bridge can't be attached on back of teeth due to overbite, so would need teeth on either side of gap to be acid etched then a zirconia bridge cemented on, extending to cover the two teeth and close the gap.

Cost isn't a major deciding factor.

I'm edging towards the implant, although the procedure is more agressive

My two front upper teeth are veneers.
I think that's the same as an implant?
They grind down the teeth that were there and glue the veneers on top.
No problems with them in 11 years now.

I got my front tooth knocked out, with the root, as a teenager. I had an implant, titanium, before going to live abroad. The operation took one hour and I had to go back to have the tooth fitted. They put a thread in the implant and screw the tooth in. It's been fine and has given me no problems over 17 years. (I had a plate for before but wanted something permanent and not something I could lose)!

I've heard the lifespan of a Bridge on a good day is ten years. My first lasted ten, my second 8, been on my third for the last 9 years, still doing fine.
