hi guys nearing completion on a new build.

Just found out i have to have a pv array fitted before sign  off!!!

Wrong end of build to find the cash,,,,

Just been quoted £3800 to fit a 3.2kw system next week,

Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks

Update

This is the spec, totally alien to me anyone know if any good?

With regard to our conversation of this morning, I would confirm that we can fit a 3.36kWp solar panel system for you consisting of the following;

12 All Black JA Solar 280w Mono Panels
1 Trannergy Inverter
Schletter Slate Fixings (see attached)
All associated electrical equipment & cabling
MCS Certification and Feed in Tariff Application
Scaffold platform (I have allowed £250 for this, if you can supply then this can be deducted)

£3895 exc VAT (Assumed zero vat for new build)

It does not sound too bad at all based on what I paid for a 4kW install a few years ago (£5k vat).

Yeah not bad. Prices average around £1k/kw ATM but more for lower end due to fixed cost being higher proportion of price. Can you afford / do you have room for more panels? Higher capacity is always useful because you ever get 100% of output. Have you looked at multi-string systems? They're essential if you have any shading.
