Its OT, sorry about that, but I think you misunderstand the way Europe was when the settlers left for the US. Europe was very Christian... and US allowed freedom from Catholicism. There was no question of not believing in God in those days.
Culturally sure, but the treaty of Tripoli explicitly says the US was not founded as a Christian nation. The entire points of the US's freedom of religion is that there is not a state religion (like the UK)
The Neo Nazis and KKK want to impose a state supported religion (their one, Christianity or whatever flavour of that they claim to be their "culture") and suppress all others. This is exactly what IS want with their desire to usurp secular laws and impose Sharia.
