I must admit I’ve not been following this thread. From what I’ve seen, but admittedly not reviewed in-depth, this was just people imitating a very funny movie wasn’t it?

Then again in the Netherlands we have also a long standing tradition to blacken our faces to celebrate a children’s fest. Some outsiders make a big issue of something they simply don’t understand and turning it into something it just isn’t.
