New Watchmen Prequels given go ahead!

DC have released details on all new Watchmen Prequels - info here

What does everyone think? Alan Moore isn't best pleased - but then again, when is he?

My opinion is that it would be good to see more Rorschach in his heyday

I think Alan Moore makes a good point, riding on the coattails of something he created 25 years ago - which just happens to have been a major movie in recent times - isn't doing anything new or original. Prequels have been the bane of the movie industry in recent years, and DC are just doing the same thing in comic form.


Now, that having been said, given the talent line-up they've announced for this project, I'm probably not going to boycotting these titles in support of Moore... Sorry Alan!

I am all for it. Without the X-Men films we would not have the excellent First Class, so hopefully these comics will be good.

I would have prefered a single title, comprising of all the stories though a 30 issue run containg all the stories, not 30 issues of multiple series over 6 months as you can bet they will release them concurrently, hammering funds or sacrificing other titles to obtain them.

I personally think Azzarello will work wonders with Rorschach and The Comedian - 100 Bullets is a firm fave of mine

I was thinking of Lex Luthor: Man of Steel when Azzarello got a mention. A fantastic story, very well written. Anyone who can make you empathise with a supervillain like Luthor is a great storyteller.

Anyone know if they'll be bringing these to the UK in a compendium form?
