No time for fiction

I read books which tend to be either historical, about a specific event or person or subject. In terms of TV I rarely ever watch films and mainly watch news, sport. Very occasionally do I watch a drama, although I am currently enjoying the Politician's Husband.

But does anyone else really not have much time for fiction? I've tried to get into fiction books and have read a few but I never find them all that engaging and I struggle to stay the course and give up midway through. I hate the unnecessary  detail you get to pad the things out in fictional books. Like a three page detailed description of the three seconds before, three seconds during and three seconds after the fair maiden takes her hat off, or something. I find it tedious.

Similarly to TV and books, I dislike games, which can also be called a fiction, I guess.

Is it unusual to have a largely blanket dislike of fiction regardless of what genre it comes from.
