Saddened to learn of the death of one of Ireland's true literary giants, Seamus Heaney.

Studying his Death of a Naturalist book gave me a new understanding of poetry, and how powerful words could be.

Dont know him, but always sad to see the loss of an author.

He went to the same school as me, and also a fellow Co.Derry man.

Shame you really only appreciate someone like this when they actually leave us. Have heard a lot of his poems over recent weeks since his passing, and they are excellent.
