Petrol Generator Advice.

I have a container far from home with no electric hook-up and as the nights are drawing in I need electricity because at some point I will need lights, a heater & maybe hook up a power tool.

I don't want to be spending £££ budget around £100 max as it will be used very infrequently. So I have seen one on eBay and it is 1000w, however the heater is 750w so does that mean anything over 250w it would not work?

If so what size generator should I be looking at to power the two devices please.

As a guide, I'm looking at these, but I think they are underpowered?

Personally I would try to find a 2000W unit to give extra capacity just in case.

I had a generator a few years back and spare capacity was what it lacked...it kept tripping out!

Why not get a gas bottle heater, rechargeable LED lamps and cordless tools ?

Not a bad idea but as I have the cordless tools, it will just save lugging the batteries back & forth home.

You're not leaving enough overhead for all your electrical items.

Also don't forget when you switch on your heater or electric drill there is an initial spike which is likely to trip your 1KW generator.

Recommend, as car-man says, getting a 2KW generator.
