Coldstart juddering Suzuki Swift

As a above, for the first few minutes whilst the engine warmsup when pulling away from first the engine judders even with usual revs.

This is a fairly common problem with the Swift.

Chances are it's the clutch plate and needs replacing. Unfortunately it's an expensive job unless you can get it done under warranty.

Reads more like a misfire , when did it last have new spark plugs or could be the first sign of a coil packing in --- always assuming its a petrol not a diesel ! Clutches are long lived and are cheap to sort out but general last 80 to 90 K Clutch on ours was £240 fully fitted ( Luk brand @ 87K ish . Might be worth a long run to get it fully warm as just 23k is quite low usage ?

Yes its a petrol and no idea with regards to spark plugs (I bought it in september), it gets driven for 40 miles a day so it gets a decent run. As soon as it is warm (so within a few minutes) it no longer happens so I dont know if its because the engine is still cold or potential issue stated above.

Got to be worth putting 4 new plugs in if you don't or can't prove the previous history . Also might be worth trying 2 or 3 full tanks of BP ultimate or its Esso / Shell equivalent . These are quite a durable car if you look after it >

If the problem is there when you take up drive at the biting point then the clutch is juddering.
If the problem has only started since the colder weather has arrived then it is merely condensation that has built up on the clutch plate which goes away when the engine warms up.
I've seen this problem many times including with my own Peugeot van.
If the problem is there when you are driving along when the engine is cold then you have some sort of misfire which may be related to damp.

Yeah exactly this really, i've spoken with my mum who also has a swift (12 plate) and she said she had similar issues and spoke with the garage and checked everything over but nothing was found (he test drove hers cold) and only thing was he gave it more revs (not excessively) when pulling away.

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it starts to be a problem at all times and you get judder changing down from 4th to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd.
As I said, I get this with my own van and it's been like that for all of the 8 years or so I've owned it.

Swift is great

Had a juddering clutch at cold for a while and then noticed a judder under braking.  Got the brakes inspected and found a warped disk.  When the brakes were replaced there was no more juddering clutch.  Hope this helps others.
