Apart from the special effects, this film fails in pretty much every other area. The characters consist of the usual bunch of cliches, and the dialogue is puerile, at best. I know the film is about giant creatures, but the plot is full of implausible happenings and nonsensical situations. To be honest, I felt like I was watching a 1980's Disney film with better effects. I don't walk out on movies because they "might get better". This one didn't. The 5 is for the CGI, without that it would get far less. Btw, the Earth has a molten core. Just saying.
