They just don't learn. With every entry on the "Godzilla-verse" they just put more and more emphasis in two things. One great! More battles and visual spectacle!
But one that destroys my enjoyment with more human drama. And it's bad drama. It's bad melodrama. And it's not funny, if that's what they were going for with one of the sub-plots.
In the end, they had a good and simple story here, to justify the action, and then they kept adding extra human stuff and made this movie really annoying and boring. Amazing CGI and battles, but boring.
