When I first watched this show, I thought 'so what, folks ?'. But I gave it a second chance, a third, a fourth....until season finale. And now I miss it, knowing it will not be continued.

"The Finder" was nowhere to call a spin-off, except for the first few episodes, with a really small number of guest appearances from "Bones" there. What the producers seemingly didn't realize is the real target audience for the show. It is a great show for teenagers, whose struggles with the society are represented by the Willa Character, supported by the big Leo figure as a benefactor, and led to creativity in thinking by the deeply sympathetic main character Walter's crude solutions, which are of course mostly not replicable, but are indeed showing how lateral thinking could work.

What I didn't like was the biased presentation of the gypsies. Most Americans may do not know what Gypsies are or may have never heard of them. It's definitively not their main profession to steal from others. And if they submit a crime, it can be violent also. Their society has a number of questionable customs, like child marriage, but a society should not be prejudged. People have to accept that there are different ways to live. Property and employment are not mandatory for a respectable life.

The show has not much violence and a lot of humor and even some wisdom. It lacks a certain dramatic level, but for adults it has a conciliative aspect, which may on the other hand not be very attractive at 8.p.m. or 9.p.m.

I would position this show at the same level as "Mac Guyver" from the 1980s, which is now cult. While the old show was mainly action-driven, "The Finder" is more a "Sherlock-Holmes in Miami" scenario, utilizing unusual thoughts, a little bending of the law, and gut instincts. One of the nicest ideas here was the task to find a special menu for a husband who wanted to save his marriage with it, and although the realization of this idea was undeniably not the best, when not even far from good, it was a very enjoyable episode.

It was really a bad decision to cancel this show.
