My son watched Barney growing up in 1993-1995. It helped him learn his ABC's that we had problems teaching him. He loved Barney. I love everything it teaches. There is the right amount of repetitiveness that allows kids to learn basics like: numbers, ABC's, colors, shapes, songs, sharing, friendships.
My grandkids now watch Barney and they just love him and are learning so much from the show. I also babysit kids and they love Barney. When it is time for TV Barney is asked for about 60% of the time. Even over Mickey Mouse and Paw Patrol.
Every now and then I run across a show or video that I haven't even seen. I really wish Barney was still on TV in reruns and new shows. I understand all the negative remarks, but those remarks are what 1-4 year olds like. As long as kids are learning who cares what educational show they watch. My 5-6 year old grandson loves the last Barneys that were made where they went to Hawaii, Spain, Italy and those other places in 2009.
