Terry O'Quinn plays a fantastic nut case in this great little thriller. Although there is some blood and violence in the film, The Stepfather is far from being a slasher type movie. What lifts it above the standard fare is O'Quinn's very believable portrayal of Jerry Blake -- a certifiable whacko. Some favorite scenes are when Blake meets his step daughter's psychologist, when Blake has a discussion with himself in the basement, and when he has a little trouble with his identity while on the phone. Not the best movie ever filmed, but O'Quinn makes it worth your time.
