Lana Turner was in an abusive relationship at the time of filming with a Mafiosa JOHNNY STOMPANATO who was a Bodyguard to LA Mobster MICKEY COHEN. Stompanato flew to England to "straighten out" Turner who had not returned his phone calls. He grabbed her in front of the Director, crew and Connery, who subdued the hulking Stompanato with a one punch knock out. Eventually, some time later, back in LA. Turner's Daughter fatally stabbed Stompanato during one of his beatings on her mother. She was fortunately acquitted of any charges.
