I greatly enjoyed watching Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist. It is incredible what a group of dedicated fans put together here. Before Street Fighter movies with real actors were just a fast and unsatisfying cash in. The team here put authenticity above all, even down to the masterly executed martial arts moves, and tells a fascinating and at all times superbly acted origins story. The story is about Ryu and Ken and how they are raised by martial arts legend Gouken. At first the two are at odds, but become friends soon. Their training is to master the Ansatsuken and the Satsui no Hado, ancient and unbelievably strong martial arts techniques, to then go the path of the world warriors. Many flashbacks illuminate Gouken's past, where he trained with his brother Gouki at master Gotetsu. As Gouki fell to the arts of the Dark Hado and became the demon (Akuma) that eventually killed Gotetsu, the theme if the past repeats itself is a constant question in the movie. I greatly enjoyed this fantastic movie and have seldom seen small money put to such great use. A must see.
