Tevar played on simple truths about corruption and righteousness. This movie refrained from indulgences and Bollywood glam. The humble towns depicted the dilapidated concrete infrastructure and resilient slums of areas under siege of corrupt politics and organized crime. There was insight into a growing sport, named Kabadi, since the local Kabadi hero was just someone doing the right thing at the right time selflessly. Selfless acts of kindness accumulated for the hometown hero, and the damsel in distress fell for him as he saved her from a gangster. Her brother was a member of media and fast on the gangster's trail. He died at the hands of the gangster along with a majority of the moral resistance to the gangster's proliferating corruption. Fear finally fell to love and respect as the few courageous patrons left in the city teamed together for helping the hero squash the gang.
