1:27:46 in before you see the "monster" and then only for a few seconds.
The time leading up to that is an hour and a half of monologues, rudimentary skateboarding, basic surfing & partying.
You don't get a full reveal of the antagonist until 1:45:46, 10 minutes before the end.
I kept waiting, "ok, now something will happen"...no. It's like they just filmed people going about their day, then added 15 minutes of a scripted movie.
The acting isn't terrible, lighting is good when they are underground, you can see what is going on. None of that makes up for the almost total lack of anything happening.
I also like how rabies takes effect in 24-48 hours in this universe, not the 4 - 12 weeks it takes in ours. Within two days he begins drooling and getting violent to where he needs subdued.
It also teaches a skateboard may be the deadliest hand-to-hand weapon ever created by man.
Another question, where did he get hundreds of candles living underground?
But watching fingernails grow is more exciting than the 1st hour and 45 minutes of this "horror" movie.
Spend your time cleaning litter boxes or watching paint dry instead
