Susan Hayward and Dana Andrews star in this 1949 melodrama entitled,"My Foolish Heart". This film directed by Mark Robson is based on the short story of J.D. Salinger's short story,"Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut".

It tells the story of a wartime romance that ends in a heartbreak. Eloise Wengler is about to be divorced and she wants to tell her husband that he is not the father of her child,Ramona. She relieves the moment of her true love particularly having an affair when she got pregnant.

Evidently, the movie is full of melodrama cliches that have become extremely popular during the age of soap operas. It was soppy and corny especially in its effort trying to emit tears from the viewer.Even author J.D. Salinger got upset with what Hollywood did with his work never allowed them any movie adaptation from their movies like "Catcher In The Rye".

Well,it was nice to get introduced to the late actress Susan Hayward, who got her second of five Oscar nominations, during her movie career. Her strong performance as an independent woman was commendable in this melodrama.

Hopefully,I get a better film of Susan Hayward soon. I plan to see "Top Secret Affair" with Kirk Douglas. Will it be a good one? Let us wait and see.
