After their dynamite chemistry in The Best Years of Our Lives, Teresa Wright and Dana Andrews were all set to star in the romantic My Foolish Heart. Teresa and Samuel Goldwyn had a disagreement, and she was replaced at the last minute by Susan Hayward. While Teresa and Dana were very cute together, Suzy and Dana had even more chemistry! If you like classic romances, you won't want to miss this wartime drama about the power of first loves.
At the beginning of the story, Susan Hayward is hardened, unhappily drowning her sorrows in alcohol. She's visited by a friend and reminisces about her youth, when she was innocent and fell in love for the first time. Cue the flashback. Handsome and hunky Dana Andrews plays the love of Suzy's life, and their romantic scenes together are sweet and schmaltzy, to fit in with the wartime setting. This is a totally classic film, with beautiful people, a lovely score and a very famous title song. If you like the song, watch the movie behind it!
