I'm a huge fan of the LoG and was eagerly awaiting this film. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a let-down. Don't get me wrong, it was quite entertaining, and it was great to see some of the old characters on the big screen. But it was just a bit too random. It seemed to be a bit all over the place at times. There were quite a few laugh-out-loud moments, and Geoff Tipps was better than I remembered from the TV shows. However, I would have liked more Papa Lazarou and Edward and Tubbs, but that's just me.
All in all, go see it if you are a die-hard fan. If you didn't like the TV shows, or you have never seen them, then you wouldn't get much out of the film, and it certainly isn't a good way to introduce the odd characters that inhabit Royston Vasey. It's bizarre, but better than having all your limbs cut off with a rusty spoon.
