Elevator starts out OK, but soon descends into nonsense. It can't decide if it wants to be a serious film or a comedy.

The acting is mostly passable, although it can get pretty ropy at times. The characters are stereotypical and rather disappointing. The director tries to give suspense by long drawn out sections. Unfortunately these don't increase the suspense - they're just long and tedious, wouldn't happen in real life, and just caused me to press the skip forward button.

The three-act ending is weird (last scene in the elevator, the exterior of the building, and the shot of the skyline). It says nothing about the human condition or what impact the events in the elevator had on the people involved. It seemed very much like the writers just tacked the three scenes on because they'd run out of ideas or got bored.

There are plenty of plot-holes, but given the deficiencies elsewhere, I think I can safely ignore pointing them out.

The only question I came away with (and sadly not answered in the IMDb trivia section) was: why did they use twin sisters to play the little girl?
