On paper this film sounds terrible. Not a single person gets shot. In fact not a single shot gets fired. Nobody hangs off any balconies, or runs, or jumps off somewhere high. Nobody shouts or has fist fights or car chases.

What you do get however is 2-hours of terror beyond belief. A bomb expert has planted a series of bombs on a cruise ship and is demanding a huge ransom or he will set them all off killing everyone on board. The plan was to make them impossible to disarm to ensure the ransom will be paid. But the cruiseliner cannot afford to pay. Therefore, a team of police bomb disposal experts has been given the almost impossible task to disarm them.

To disarm the bombs there are a whole series of booby traps where if you hit a single one, the bomb goes off killing you. And there is the suspense. And a lot of it.

By the end of the film you will feel like an emotional wreck. Or I did at least. And Richard Harris and David Hemmings are brilliant in their calm collected manner where they know the slightest of mistakes means certain death.

Anyone who watches this film and feels at the end they want to get a job as a police bomb disposal worker. They deserve immense credit and respect.
