I just saw this movie tonite ... after it opened here yesterday. And I have to say I laughed and laughed just about from one end to the other of the movie.
I've only seen Larry the Cable Guy a few times before ... on Blue Collar TV. And if you don't happen to like this particular brand of Blue Collar humor you probably won't like this movie. Because of course it's really constructed around the (to me hilarious) comic persona of Larry. And for that purpose ... a vehicle for Larry situational comedy ... it was just plain excellent.
The acting and characterizations of others in the flick were good; cinematography fine; composition adequate; plot adequate for the purpose. Meaning it really had no plot, but who cares, in a movie like this? The point of this kind of flick is really to set up situations for Larry to do his comedic thing, and the movie did and Larry did, so what else is there to say, except ... thanks, Larry, for Gittin' R Done.
Oh and thanks to Kid Rock and to Larry's Pick Up Truck from Hell for their special cameo appearances.
