I wasn't sure what to expect from this series. "Rob" was a bit of a letdown, but I generally enjoy Mr. Schneider's work. I feel with the artistic freedom Mr. Schneider enjoys with this show, he has created a fine piece of entertainment that truly highlights some of the issues facing Hollywood celebrities (and sometimes we lesser beings;) Celebrity privilege, spousal jealousy, family leeches, balancing work and family; Real Rob examines these and other issues with an outrageous comedic eye that has my wife and I laughing out loud every episode.

Mr. Schneider and Mr. Lissow are believable and genuine. Every episode I wonder what new disaster they are going to get into. Great acting, excellent writing.

I felt the first couple episodes were somewhat weak. Maybe it was the inevitability of the audience getting to know the characters, but I felt something was missing that was picked up in later episodes. So if you find yourself wanting to turn off the pilot halfway through, try to give it a few more episodes before deciding. Maybe the parodies in the characters were overdone and the mechanics of the relationships not obvious enough in the pilot. When I first watched it, I found myself wondering again and again why Rob didn't just fire Jamie and get a real assistant. The answer is obvious by ~episode 3, but I did suffer that initial confusion.

I highly recommend Real Rob to anyone looking for a light comedy that underscores some real issues Hollywood celebrities face. I look forward to another season, and hopefully many more.
