Not what I was expecting (possible spoiler)

I'm not sure why, but I like Albert Brooks movies.  This one started out OK but then midway degenerated into "Terms of Endearment".  If you like watching films whose characters get sick and die you may still like this film.  I can't stand tear jerk movies and didn't know I was watching one until it was too late.  If I wanted to see Albert Brooks die in a movie I would have watched " Defending your Life" again.  At least that movie what funny.  I came close to shutting this movie off.  Now that I know the end I know I wouldn't have missed anything.
