I snuck into the premiere of "Mister Lonely" at Tribeca on Tuesday, and although it was mostly what I expected, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Korine is masterful at invoking emotion in his audiences, and this film was no exception. I understand why this film has such a low score: because it doesn't carry a "message," which film nerds insist upon, but the images are beautifully captured, and the story is CRAZY. Come on, a Michael Jackson impersonator who meets a Marilyn Monroe impersonator in Paris and follows her to a celebrity impersonator commune in Scotland? You can't lose with this one, people.
