Bullets has an interesting production history. Originally made in 2013 under the title Tina and Lolo, it was subsequently shelved, until a few years later the movie appeared to have found a distributor. New posters alongside music videos from the movie were released online, however that teaser was all we received as the movie was shelved for a second time! Fast forward to 2020 and the Indian streaming service, MX Player, announced on social media that they will be releasing a new webseries called Bullets in October - well this "new" webseries was actually Tina and Lolo which had now been reformatted from a movie to a 6 episode series. Not that this reviewer is complaining because any release at this point would be better than nothing. Well imagine the frustration when at the eleventh hour, the release was pulled and all mention of the show from MX Player's social media account alongside their official trailer on YouTube was pulled! Had Tina and Lolo been shelved yet again?

Thankfully it was only temporary, with MX Player releasing a revised trailer with a new 2021 release date. So finally after 7  years, Tina and Lolo has now been released online. So is it any good? The short answer is yes. This action thriller starring Sunny Leone and Karishma Tanna is a worthwhile watch that also features strong support from veteran actors such as Deepak Tijori, Vivek Vaswani and Mohan Kapoor. Many people will no doubt be watching this for Sunny but the surprise talent here is Karishma Tanna whose great acting is sure to be noticed by many others also, give this girl the lead role in a movie or TV show because I want to see more of her!

The plot focuses on the two leads going on the run after they kill a minister's son in self defence. Lolo has also stolen evidence that implicates the minister in a weapons smuggling ring - so that means alongside the police, they now also have goons chasing them. This story is paper thin but it's effective at getting the job done and that's pitting Leone and Tanna in situations allowing them to kick ass and take names.

Alas the biggest issue is the editing with many episodes ending abruptly and for no reason whatsoever events within the show are edited out of order - this was not needed and a more straightforward approach would have worked much better. The songs are catchy (although I'm sure many folks would have listened to them online multiple times already since they were released back in 2018!). Overall, despite a few flaws, Bullets is a worthy entry into a woefully small female action genre within Indian movies and TV shows and with a total running time of a little over 2 hours, it should be a breezy afternoon watch for many viewers.
