I will not add to what has already been said by others here, this is a truly great show and I would say original even if the theme is familiar. The scripts, the writing are 1st rate. Unfortunately the subtitles come at you so fast and furious you have to pause and resume to get all of the dialog. And yet it is worth doing so because so much thought went into writing the scripts.
I have watched other series with subtitles that presented no difficulties in following them, sadly this is not the case with "Merli'". Still I tell you it is more than worth the effort.
