in the event of no deal and hard border (whatever that entails) what happens to the common travel area agreement ?

A customs border is nothing to do with citizens rights.
Section 6 does not have anything that would preclude a customs border.

Another genuine question after May's announcement yesterday.
So she is joining up with Corbyn - I see two possible outcomes
1) She gets Corbyn onside for the May/EU deal with some offer (who knows what) and he instructs the Labour whip to vote for it.It will then pass easily.
2) The Customs Union is bolted onto the May/EU deal
My question is about the Customs Union.I understand what it means, and personally I think being in it with EU membership is a risky thing.But that aside, do you have to pay to be in it?

Can't seem to find anything about a subscription to be in the customs union. However, I suspect that as the ability to strike trade deals independantly was a key Vote Leave campaigning point, it's unlikely to play well with anybody but the most moderate of leavers.
Maybe its the compromise that can finally push it over the line though? No freedom of movement, no subscription cost, no need to enact all EU directives.
Yes - you pay the import tariffs from 3rd countries to the EU instead of keeping the funds. Last year it amounted to about £3Bn.
