Cordless BT phones

Just received a new landline number from VM.However when I rang the number from my mobile phone to my BT cordless phone, just to see if it worked it did.

However when I cancelled the call without obviously answering, I now find the cordless phone just keeps on ringing, even with the mobile switched off.   BT have said its nottheir problem as I am with VM.02 dont want to know, and I am still waiting on a reply from VM.

Are their any settings to alter to alleviate this problem.

Probably a setting at the VM end and nothing to do with any of your phones.
