Play music from 1 network to another over internet

What's the most reliable and cost effective way of remotely controlling and playing music to a number of dumb (uncontrolled/ uncontrollable) speaker systems where each of the following are potentially on a different network: -
- Speaker system 1 (locally dumb/ uncontrolled/ uncontrollable)
- Speaker system 2 (locally dumb/ uncontrolled/ uncontrollable
- Speaker system ... (locally dumb/ uncontrolled/ uncontrollable
- Speaker system 20 (locally dumb/ uncontrolled/ uncontrollable
- One music data source
- One remote (web-based) controller

I might be able to (or want to) combine the music data source and a controller and one of the speaker systems on the same network, BUT all remaining speaker systems will be on separate networks AND I'll still want a remote control clone.

Does that make sense?

Thanks in advance

To help provide the best advice:
1. What is your budget for this project?
2. Is this for a domestic or commercial setting?
3. What amplifiers are driving the speakers currently?
4. Is there a Wi-fi network at the premises?
5. What is the music source(s)?

Thanks

Hi Mushii, thanks for q's: -
1) Unknown, but the requirement is not a must have - it's a nice to have, significantly dependant on cost
2) Commercial
3) Nothing yet installed, so feel free to suggest most reliable install
4) Yes, wifi is present
5) Tbc, so again am open to suggestions

Thanks again

I think that this is a perfect setup for Sonos or any of the other distributed music systems out there.

Is this for background Muzak? HiF quality music, jukebox / bar, sports bar? loud or quiet? The end use will kind of dictatethe best solution. Sorry for more questions.

Thanks, but I thought that for straight Sonos (i.e. no aftermarket code/ no Sonos unwarranted reconfiguration required) the controller needs to be on the same wifi as the speaker. I know that there are ways to try and work around this in Sonos, but their reliability is dependant on Sonos's own code (so no guarantees).

Quiet background music, quality has to be acceptable but not amazing, definitely need to avoid radio/ DJ's/ adverts/ jingles.

I get the strong feeling there's nothing mainstream out there that will do this.

There are plenty of solutions and really want to help you, but you need to explain exactly what the installation is for, in plain terms. Eg this is for 3 separate shops in retail cluster, or in a hotel in common areas etc. Your ask is kind of obfuscated. For example why not put a separate hard-wired network in to control them all ?
