Problem with Amazon Echo (Alexa) and Amazon Music
I recently bought an Amazon Echo Plus and signed up for Amazon Music Unlimited, Single Device option. This means that I pay £3.99/month for access to over 50 million songs but I can only play them on this one device. If I got another Echo, say for the bedroom, I would have to upgrade my music subscription to be able to stream my music to both devices.
It's been working perfectly for a couple of weeks but for some unknown reason, when I now ask Akexa to play 'x, y or z' song it will only play a 20-second sample. It thinks there's another device in use and tells me that if I want to play the full songs on this device then I must upgrade my Amazon Music subscription.
There is no other device and the only other thing I have is the Amazon Echo App on my phone, which you must install to set up these devices.
Any ideas anyone? Panic over, I got it sorted.
Given that it was a sort of account problem rather than anything 'technical' I thought the best way to get it sorted was to ring Amazon, which I did, and they solved it by deleting the 'phantom' device from my account - something we couldn't have done from my end because I couldn't see a second device!
