Echo dot as alarm radio 5 live

Apologies if this isn't the right forum. We got new echo dot to use in bedroom as a radio alarm. Radio 5 live doesnt seem to be on tune in anymore so cant work out how to set it to.come on as an alarm. If we ask it to play it there's no problem just when alarm any idea?

Try ‘BBC Sounds’

If we link the bbc skills app it opens at the time with welcome to the bbc etc what do you want to listen to now rather than straight to station https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/joypixels/[email protected]/png/64/1f629.pnghttps://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/joypixels/[email protected]/png/64/1f629.png

Ahh, good point. I actually thinking about it just let the alarm kick in the shout ‘Play Virgin radio‘ or whatever. Not the answer you need, sorry.

As far as i can tell from other sources it's not possible at moment, which seems daft but never mind

This has been much discussed elsewhere e.g. Further update on the BBC and TuneIn

In short the BBC wish to promote their own app and have withdrawn access to BBC on Tunein (in UK only) on any platform where they think you can instead use their app/skill - e.g. smartphones, Amazon Echo

Unfortunately many Alexa features only work with Tunein stations, like setting alarms, multi-speaker/stereo, and casting to a Sonos

The BBC believed that Amazon would change Alexa so that the BBC Skill would then work in the same way, but this is not happening. You can now start a skill at a certain time with a routine but this does not work as an alarm clock.

Despite all the negative feedback the BBC refuse to roll back their changes.
