Scotland June trip
Me and the other half are planning a mid week trip to Scotland week commencing June 5th.We will be going to skye and stopping off around glencoe/fort William
We will be driving, and wondered if anybody has any recommendations in terms of places to stay and things to see.
She doesn't want to go to shop, as we can do that anywhere.. She wants to see the sights/lochs mountains wildlife etc
Any suggestions welcomed and thanks in advance Take a ride up Glencoe on the chairlifts.
Chairlift Rides - Glencoe Mountain Resort
And / Or
Gondola ride up Ben Nevis.
Britain's Only Mountain Gondola | Scotland Cable Car | Nevis Range
On Skye go and see the fairy pools although parking can be an issue due to limited car parking space. Old man of Stoor and kilt rock are other places to visit.
A bit further afield and maybe too far for your timescale is the Bealach na Ba road toApplecross which is a single track and steep road with stunning views if the weather plays nice.
Buy some Smidge incase the midges are out in force as they can spoil a holiday if the weather is in their favour. We did the gondola ride 2 years ago. I shat myself hate heights and my mrs and lad are sat there swinging the thing, I think I almost cried!!!
It was a good thing to do though apart from that, it gets very busy and would check before traveling too far make sure its open data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 we did an hour n half trip to find it shut data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 the first day we went but rang them up at 8am the following day to check.
The day it was shut we ended up driving to the white beaches Traigh Beach I think it was called data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 stunning place. Cheers guys, I sh*t myself climbing up a step ladder so I'll have to be brave to go up there but if it's worth it I'll have to just hold my balls and get on with it Traigh beach is at the Back o Keppoch Arasaig and you could visit the beach and then use the ferry from Mallaig to Skye.
This photo is from 1st March this year at the beach mentioned. Thanks looks beautiful Probably one of the best resources with good advice and planning suggestions www.visitscotland.com/see-do/
Also some good threads on the trip advisor website Booked a lovely B&B named torlundy house really good reviews in a nice location, can't wait to get up there now Torlundy is only a 5 minute drive from the Nevis range for the gondolas.
Looks like squeezed balls for you. If your looking for somewhere to go on the way up / down , try the Falkirk Wheel , it's an amazing bit of machinery !!!
