Weather, very hot and humid. Not much rain but what we did have was very heavy and over fairly quickly. Had one morning on the beach where a storm rolled in and in the space of about 15 minutes was done. Crazy thunder and lighting, I was out in the sea at that point and loved it! Everyone else had legged it though so I might be in the minority.
People were all very nice and food was generally very good, got sick for a couple of days but may have just been bad luck. Couldn't pinpoint it to one thing.
Location where we stayed was very nice but quite remote, if your happy staying in and around the complex for two weeks it's fine but we felt a little restricted. Did some good trips, swam with turtles etc which was fantastic, went to a self funded monkey sanctuary where you sit inside there enclosure and they come and sit with you, cuddle up etc which I thought I would hate but turned out to be one of the highlights.
Hotel was very good indeed and nice and quite but on balance we preferred the akumal which was by the sea and had the better pools and buffet, but was obviously more noisy if that's a concern for you.
All inclusive, sorry if it's teaching you to suck eggs but we had not done it before and expected it to be great but came away with mixed feelings. The food was to a very high standard but we got a little bored of the same drinks in the same places if that makes sense, even though there was 4 hotels and several bars in each. We indeed went to the local town a couple of days just to be somewhere different and have a little more choice, it also felt a little more like an event to be honest.
Overall very good experience just not sure it was the right type of holiday for us personally.
