Florida - Ft Myers (Cape Coral), Sarasota (+ Bradenton, AMI)?

Right this is plan F I think as we can't seem to find what we want for next years holiday?

We were going to book Ft L but struggling to find an hotel in our budget with good reviews or no resort fee's data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7maddata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7. Now been looking at the Gulf coast in either Ft Myers or around Sarasota area. Seems better choice of hotels and villa's around Ft Myers ( Cape Coral) are very good prices. Been to Clearwater for a day while in Orlando but never stayed on the gulf coast or in Ft L so looking for some advice? We want a nice safe place where you can do a bit of shopping and plenty of places to eat, don't mind a short drive but not like an hour each way for dinner. Will be two adults and one teen, like to doss about during the day and then have a look around during the late afternoon early evening. Will be travelling next July so need to be on the coast for the breeze.

Anyone stayed at any of the locations recently?

Cheers.

Well booked Cape Coral now so no going back. Seemed the best fit for our requirements.

We have toured Florida several times but have just used Holiday Inns. Cheap, you know what to expect, but we just stop the night and move on. Not ideal for a lengthy stay IMO.

When it's just the two of us that's what we'll be doing. Done Orlando several times so fancied something a little different for this trip. Might do the keys for a day or two via the fast cat from Ft Myers. Only 3hrs away so easy to do.

That would be a great way to do it. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Done it twice on a Harley and it's quite a detour by road unless you stay a while.

Ducked out because of the exchange. After a fortnight of $1.25/£ in 2002, I made a $1.50 rule and mostly stick to it.

doubt you'll be going back anytime soon then. Exchange rates all over pretty much suck since brexit data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
