Travelling in Norway

I have a friend getting married near Oslo at the end of September. Flights are cheap, about £70 each return.

I'm just wondering if its worth taking a few extra days and touring around a little. I worry that late September/early October is a bad time weather wise, too late for the summer but too early for the snow.

I'm happy to use Airbnb to keep costs down as I've also read that Norway is a very expensive country to visit.

Anybody have advice or recommendations?

Are you paying for your own holiday this time then? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 jk

It's the perfect time to fly up to Tromso and look for northern lights.

£160 each for that flight. Trying to keep this trip on a fairly tight budget.

Actually considering taking the train over to Bergen rather than car hire which is pretty expensive.
