Ryanair
starting to regret booking with ryanair.checked in online and they have put us at opposite ends of the plane because we didn't pay to sit together.
is that others peoples experience , or is it a bit random whether you get together...? Lots in the news about this.
I understand the whole "splitting people up" is being investigated by somebody (CAA maybe).
Ryanair are pretty bad with it. Couple of times i've booked, there's been seats availability together but we were split anyway.
Best I can say is, often, it happens to quite a few people so, once you've taken off, there may be several people playing "can I swap seats with you" so you might get to sit together.Has worked for me a few times.
Only booked 2 x flights with EZY and, on both of the outbound/inbound flights, me and my mate were placed together (despite not paying for seats).
In my experience, and, talking to a few others, it does happen with a few airlines but Ryanair seem to be more guilty than others. yeah i've never had a bother with easyjet when i haven't paid for seats
i've never had a bother with any other airline come to think of it
we are at opposite ends of the plane unfortunately so may be hard even if other people ask to swap.
they don't do themselves any favours, i'm going to avoid them in the future if i can You want to sit together you pay to sit together. Not really sure what your problem is to be honest, Ryanair haven't done anything unexpected here. it's exploitation
make more money at any cost in any way. 99% of people flying together want to sit together
so ryanair see a way to pray on that to make a quick buck. it's the first time i've ever had to pay to sit with someone and i've flown with a lot of airlines.
i'll try and avoid them next time like i say I'm as big a fan of Ryanair as anyone on here but, deliberately putting people apart, when there are clearly multiple seats together is a bit ott, imo.
I don't expect a good seat (need to pay for that) or to sit where I want (need to pay for that) but if I was booking for 2, i'd expect to be seated together, if such seats were available.
All that happens is people end up moving about to be together anyway.
Ryanair have just changed there rules again anyway.
Those that don't pay for seats may well have less seat options so will probably find themselves being split (legitimately) up. yep, they're a cunch of bunts - we used them last year and the same thing happened... and I seem to recall there being some issue when one of us tried to pay to move when we got our free seats 10 rows apart...so, I was plonked in a middle seat (of 3) when some lad sat next to me - and I quickly explained I wasn't be a awkward by booking this seat and explained the craic - turns out his mate was sat next to my lady and we just swapped over...
they're spiteful and we'll never use them again... jet2 are spot on data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 But they're so cheapdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Jet 2.Only flown with them once.
Took me weeks to get that bloody theme (must have played it 50 times on the plane) tune out of my head.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 You know what you are getting with Ryanair when you book so you cannot really moan. That £4 per seat selection helps keep the costs down. If you are clever you can bend the rules to suit yourself.
For example last September I went to Stuttgart with Ryanair. Didn't pay for hold luggage however took a suitcase larger than permitted and weighed 15kg. As soon as the lady come along asking for volunteers to put bags in the hold I volunteered. Straight in the hold without weighing or checking size. Worked on the way back.
And the cost for a return journey was £35.
It would cost me that to get the train from Manchester to Liverpool and in rush hour I'll be stood up all the way 90% of my Ryanair trips (3-5 per year on average) are solo so I don't have to worry about the seating thing.
Ridiculously cheap most of the time. Love browsing for cheap fares.Probably in my top 10 most visited websitesdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
