Costa Rica advice
Hi everyone, I am currently in Costa Rica renting in through Airbnb. I work online so here for a few weeks. I want to travel some and have a car. Can anyone recommend where I should go please? I am a beach bunny at heart so will definitely hit a beach. Thank you, Dionne xx We’re in our second week here at the moment, staying at Dreams Las Mareas in Guanacaste, after a week travelling round the rainforest.Definitely try to get to Tortuguero - only accessible by river or plane - and check out the Sea Turtle Consevancy place. If you’re quick and lucky, you might get to see turtles laying eggs on the beach or even hatchlings emerging and heading for the ocean.
Arenal volcano and hanging bridges rainforest tour also worth doing - BUT - as you’re now no doubt aware - it’s VERY wet here at this time of year so make sure you have proper waterproofs.
The coffee is great - pretty-much everywhere, the local Sodas are cheap places to eat, get used to rice & beans . And use bug-spray; after 10 days our legs look like join-the-dots puzzles.
We haven’t gone zip-lining this trip, but have done it before and that’s a lot of fun.
San Jose is pretty ordinary, La Fortuna is a much nicer place to visit.
This is a stunning country, with very friendly people and some incredible wildlife.
Pura Vida Watch out for snakes.
As soon as you step off the aircraft stairs, at least one will snap at your ankles, probably followed by more as you walk towards the terminal building. And maybe a Cayman too.
Its like that everywhere you go.
