Lanzarote where to stay, hire car?

looking at deals to take kids for a week to lanzarote, will book accommodation separately wondered if any one had advice on best areas to stay also if car hire would be beneficial?
Thanks

Have stayed in Playa Blanca in the past and quite liked it.We just stayed local so didn’t need car hire

Thanks mate don’t think we will bother with hire car either, just found a villa in costa teguise for a real decent price so going to take a punt on it !

Factor in cost of getting to/from the airport. Hire car may be cheaper and certainly more convenient.

Yes I usually do get a hire car just get kind of sick of relying on it for evenings ! Like to chill with a few cold ones and I’m the only driver!
Transfers are £45 for 5 return so as long as we don’t need many taxis it will, probably work out cheaper than approx £180 car including fuel for the week!

Definitely get a car if you are staying in Costa teguise as there is not much there except one street with a some restaurants and the beaches aren't great. Its very compact and you could walk around it entirely in an hour.

Car hire is excellent and very cheap and so is the petrol and will save a load of hassle with transfers and supermarket shopping etc. Plus, you can drive to Puerto Del Carmen which has excellent facilities and beaches. Teguise Sunday Market is good but a fair few miles from Costa teguise

Mirador Del rio is a nice trip with great views

Driving is fun in Lanzarote as the roads are like new and empty.

We always use autoreisen.com which is around £75 for a week with zero excesses and full collision damage waiver and fair fuel policy. Takes 15 minutes at the airport from getting your luggage to having your car and being on the road

Have a great holiday

We always manage to get first in the queue (not that its long anyway)

Make sure your voucher is with autoreisen and get in the right queue as they are merging with topcar so you may have the car hire voucher with them (which is fine as pretty much the same company).
