As is clear, I wasn't trying to.

Aside from all that you have the two stand out boxers of the last 20 years or so going head to head. Both are P4P the best boxers in the world so who wouldn't want to watch it, especially if you're a fan. Boxing generates huge amounts of money through worldwide TV, PPV and sponsorship so it's not at all difficult to see where it all comes from.

It won't happen though. The catchweight they would need to fight at would tip the balance in the favour of Mayweather by some distance. I always got the impression that Mayweather ducked this fight a when it should have happened because he didn't want to risk getting a serious beating, but who knows. Also both fighters have steadily been winding down the last 2-3 years and the fight we would be presented with now, whilst still a spectacle would be nowhere near the fight we would and should have had 3 or 4 years back.

Mayweather is for me the most technically accomplished and tactical boxer of the last 20 years or so and Pacman the most ferociously brutal. Had it happened a few years back, i think Paccy possibly would have taken him through his relentless work rate and punch power (but you could argue that till the cows come home). Now though with age against both of them, I think Mayweather would perhaps, only need to box clever to win. Neither have been convincing in their last outings and I feel Pacman is getting ready to go into politics and probably doesn't care anymore anyway.

Its only the top top fighters which gets paid stupid amounts really. Boxers who aint in the elite won't earn a 10th of that a Mayweather or Haye, pac-man would get.

Same for all sports the elite always get silly amounts but more so for boxing because they only really fight now once or twice a year they have to get a big cheque.
