Wow, well done Murray.
Went to bed during the 4th set hoping Novak wasn't going to do a Federer on Murray.

Thought that was it for Murray when Novak won the fourth set.
Murray showed immense mental fortitude to come back and win the fifth.
A lot of that must to be down to Lendl.

Great win for Andy, hopefully he can win a few more slams now the first is out of the way. Love the US Open, much prefer it over any of the other majors, although the French Open is excellent.

"Having Ivan Lendl around has definitely helped, not just me but the rest of the team as well, having someone of his experience, especially in these situations," said Murray.
"He's got his name on that trophy three times and made the final eight times in a row. It really helps having him around."

im sure in the commentary they said Murray was the all time best returner of server on a hard court in the game.Just in case anyone had any doubts how good he actually is.

YES!!! - WELL DONE ANDY MURRAY!! :uk:
Great Summer for him, Gold & Silver medals at the Olympics and now a US Open Winner! And he beat Djokovic in the final too - something I said on page 1 he would need to do prove the Murray Boo Boys wrong.
From what I've seen of the highlights this morning (went to bed at 11pm with AM a set up and 4-1 up in the 2nd) that was an epic match - equal longest in US Open history, a 54-shot rally & many 30-shot ones.
Murray will have a job at the BBC for life when he retires data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
EDIT: Just also read on a BBC blog that when Djokovic took his first major he did so against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga; Roger Federer beat Mark Philippoussis, while Rafa Nadal only had to get past Mariano Puerta. So to have to beat Djokovic to get his first major is a real achievement - Well done again!
