It's tough that he missed his shot due to injury, but that's the game. If he had sat out waiting for GSP we'd all have moaned. But he took a fight and lost it. Same happened to Pettis. I have no problem with him not dropping down the list too far, but he still shouldn't get the shot ahead of someone with a run like Hendricks.

This is kinda why Bellator is so different to the UFC with the tourny style in that the winner gets the shot.

As for Diaz in my eyes and a lot of other peoples he beat condit so is a worthy contender.Id also say he is a huge threat both on the feet and on the ground with subs etc.

BigStu1972 Publish time 2-12-2019 21:28:47

Diaz is a threat on his feet only if you stand in front of him and trade, and only then if he hits you with multiple punches. GSP is pretty mobile so I reckon he would beat Diaz in a kickboxing contest anyway but GSP will definately beat Diaz with his Wrestling, which is where he'll likely take the fight. GSP hasn't been submitted since 2005, when he was 23 and still very wet behind the ears so I just cannot see Diaz subbing him from his back.

The Diaz brothers i admit do see a little one dimentional in that they can attempt subs from their back or box.Wish they would work on the kickboxing and wrestling a little.

The UFC's gamble of putting such a stacked card on free TV paid off, they had a massive ratings success, nearly doubling the UFC on Fox 4 totals and also hitting all the demographic zones they wanted.

It was an excellent card and all the fights were very enjoyable. In fact I dont' recall any booing, which is a firstdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Mark Hominick has retired. Sad fall from the top, from fighting Aldo for the title to losing 4 on the trot and hanging it up relatively early.

oh no!I liked him.

I'm sure he'll be remembered for growing a second head.

EDIT:like most MMA guys, he'll probably be back anyway.Temporary flounce is my bet.

A few more fights confirmed/rumoured.

Wanderlei Silva vs Brian Stann could headline UFC on Fuel 8.

Rory McDonald may get his wish for a rematch with Condit at UFC 158.

GSP vs Diaz is being planned for April (bloody disgrace).

We have a co-main event for Fuel 7 in London. Denis Siver, fresh off a dominant win over Nam Phan, will face Cub Swanson.

This.A hundred times THIS.

Nate fought a dumb fight against Condit, gets beaten and then banned for a year.Title shot?Throw out any illusion that there is a fair ranking system or title progression in this promotion.

I hope Rory gets his face kicked off by Condit. He's a prick.
